Current:

  • Co-Founder & Executive Chef
    Executive Chef of Take Back the Kitchen, a culinary arts and health education program that began at the Haley House Bakery Café in 2007. Our mission is to empower our students with hands on culinary skills and health education to make the healthful, sustainable food decisions that combat growing health disparities in our community.

  • Project Bread Consulting Chef
    We are amassing a school lunch cookbook for Boston and other public schools around the nation sourced from the Project Bread Chefs-in-Schools Program. I am also, beginning in Fall 2011, a chef-in-school one day a week. The cookbook is slated for 2013.

  • Trans Fat Technical Consultant
    I consult for the Boston Public Health Commission, Chronic Disease Prevention and Control Division, as well as the Departments of Health in Lynn and Chelsea, who are following in Boston’s footsteps.  I provide transfat technical support to restaurants, bakeries, and institutions that may be having difficulty transitioning off trans fats.

  • Consulting Chef
    Working with the Boston Public Schools to help create healthier, more nutritious lunches for students.

  • Founding Chef
    I am the founding chef of Haley House Bakery Café, a nonprofit café and catering operation which opened in September 2005 in Dudley Square, Roxbury. The cafe offers healthy affordable baked goods, breakfast and lunch for the Dudley community, catering for Boston area businesses, all while providing training for those in transition.

    Delux Cafe: A beloved dive bar in the South End with funky comfort food, Christmas lights all year round, and a postage-stamp-sized kitchen.

    Pho République: Vietnamese fusion food and popular hipster hangout in the South End, now sadly closed.
